On the morning of April 12, SHOU held the Commencement Ceremony of the Mariculture Seminar for Overseas Students from French Polynesia in Multimedia Information Center 102. Present at the commencement ceremony were Cheng Yudong, President of SHOU; Wang Cheng, President of Tianrui Investment (Group) Management Co., Ltd.; Zhang Zuliang, Vice President of Tianrui Investment (Group) Management Co., Ltd.; and heads of related departments of SHOU. The ceremony was chaired by You Luquan, Dean of the College of International Cultural Exchange.
Commencement ceremony
Cheng gave a speech at the commencement ceremony. In the speech, he warmly congratulated the ten students from French Polynesia for their successful graduation; appreciated the government of French Polynesia, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Tianrui Investment (Group) Management Co., Ltd. for their contributions to the successful completion of the seminar; fully affirmed the students’ learning outcome, cultural experience and practice, and their appreciation of China’s educational achievements; and also sincerely thanked the faculties undertaking this training task. He also pointed out that the successful gradution from the mariculture seminar of the overseas students from French Polynesia would further expand the scope of SHOU’s international exchange, and that, as a new measure taken by SHOU in responding to the “Belt and Road Initiative” launched by Chinese government, it would be of positive significance to promoting and improving the overseas student education level in SHOU.

After the ceremony, the French Polynesianstudents presented a moving “Teacher Appreciation” ceremony on site, and expressed their sincere appreciation to Tianrui Investment (Group) Management Co., Ltd. and relevant leaders and teachers of SHOU with songs and presents withpolynesian characteristics.

The ten overseas students graduating this time were selected by the government of French Polynesia from the 30 outstanding students who stood out in the nationwide mass-selection. After returning to their country, they will show their talents on their respective posts, and will lay a solid foundation for the further cooperation among SHOU, Tianrui, and French Polynesia.
