On the afternoon of January 16, Lv Xuexin, Presidentof Taiwan's National Kaohsiung Marine University (NMKU), visited our university.Wu Jiamin, Party Secretary, Zhong Junsheng, Director of Hong Kong, Macao andTaiwan Affairs Office, Wang Sichang, Executive President of the GraduateSchool, and Wang Shiming, President of the College of Engineering, had talkswith the guests on inter-university cooperation and exchange.
Wu Jiamin expressed warm welcome to LuXuexin and his party. Both parties reviewed the long history of cooperation andexchange between the two universities. At the current stage of cooperation andexchange, they hoped to further expand the fields and programs of cooperation,conduct research cooperation and student co-cultivation at the teachers' level,and conduct characteristic cooperation on marine and aquatic research at thegraduate level.
National Kaohsiung Marine University isTaiwan’s higher education institute specializing in marine teaching andcultivating students to become marine talents. The school originated inTaiwan's Keelung Fishery Vocational College Kaohsiung Campus established in1946. In 2004, the school was reorganized as National Kaohsiung MarineUniversity . At present, there are two campuses, i.e. Nanzi and Cijin.Since the signing of the agreement on student cooperation and exchange with NKMUin 2014, we have not only conducted exchange visits among researchers, but alsoconducted exchanges in recognition of undergraduate credits. In 2017, 16undergraduates from our university went to NKMU and NKMU also sent 49 studentsto our school for a short-term exchange.
