SHOU Teachers and Students Attended Multi-University Joint Seminar at Mie University

From October 23 to October 27, Prof. ChenTinggui from the College of Economics and Management of Shanghai OceanUniversity (SOU) led 10 MA and 1 doctoral students to attend the 24thMulti-University Joint Seminar held at Mie University in Japan. Atotal of 160 delegates from 10 universities from 5 countries had discussions onfive topics, including population, food, energy, environment and children.

This international conference was dividedinto 4 sessions: oral reports, posters, learning practices, group discussions. SOUgraduate students submitted academic papers on 4 topics to the conference.Under the guidance of Prof. Chen Tinggui, the participating postgraduates madeoutstanding oral reports at the meeting, and their ability to respond quicklyto the scene and communicate and exchange in English was practiced andenhanced.

In the learning practice session, theparticipants were arranged to watch the fishery production and visit forestryenterprises. All group members reported on the experience of visits, advantagesand disadvantages of the industryand put forward corresponding suggestions.

At this seminar, SOU teachers and students hadfriendly exchange of ideas with teachers and students from many countries, likeThailand, Indonesia, Russia, Japan and many other countries. The exchanges strengthenedthe inter-university and international contacts, expanded horizons of students and enhanced the academic communication skills of the postgraduates,fully demonstrating the demeanor of SOU teachers and students.
