Doctor NeillAndrew Herbert currently works as professor and doctoral supervisor at theCollege of Marine Science of the University of Auckland. He is mainly devotedto using fish as models to explore their oxygen transport and energy demandregulation in extreme water environments. His researches involve manyaquacultural species, having deeply investigated the behavior and physiologicalmetabolism of fish. At present, an advanced behavioral technique invented byhim has extended the concept of the interaction between fish physiology andbehavior to the application of aquaculture, so as to increase the yield ofaquatic products and improve their quality. So far, he has published more than50 SCI academic papers on MBE, JEB, BJN, JCP, Aquacultureand other journals, and participated in the compilation of Swimming Physiology of Fish and many other books. Currently he isassociate editor at the editorial office of Taylorand Francis (Marine and Freshwater Behavior and Physiology).
