On November 29, Sun Shengzhi, deputyinspector of the Department for International Cooperation of the State OceanicAdministration, visited Shanghai Ocean University and conducted a survey on theparticipation in international maritime cooperation of our university. WuJiamin, Party Secretary and some other responsible people from related collegesand participated in the survey.
At the survey meeting, Wu Jiamin welcomed Sun Shengzhiand expressed his thanks to the State Oceanic Administration for its long-termconcern and support to our university. Wu Jiamin and Prof. Chen Liangbiao andTian Siquan, reported to the leaders from the Department for InternationalCooperation the progress and reflection on serving the national oceanicstrategy, interfacing with the China’s OBOR initiative, serving the “goingglobal” strategy and subsequent international exchange and cooperation.
Sun Shengzhi highly appreciated theachievements made by our university in international ocean governance and putforward specific guidance on the practical needs of our university ininternational cooperation of marine science and technology, compliance servicesand talent development.
Later on, accompanied by Wu Jiamin, SunShengzhi conducted a site survey on the construction of the scientific researchplatforms such as the Marine Fishery Remote Sensing Laboratory, theSino-Portuguese Joint Laboratory for Marine Bioscience and the Abyss Scienceand Technology Research Center.
