Delegation of UK University of Manchester Visited SHOU

On the afternoon of October 16, Susannah Jones, aninternational admission officer from the University of Manchester, visitedShanghai Ocean University (SOU). Relevant SOU personnel in charge of the Officeof International Exchange, Academic Affairs Office, College of Fishery and LifeScience, College of Economics and Management, College of Information, Collegeof Engineering and College of Foreign Languages, attended the meeting.

On behalf of SHOU, Zhu Zhanghua, DeputyDirector of the Office of International Exchange, extended warm welcome to theguests and briefed them on the history of SHOU, the general situation of thediscipline arrangement and the status quo of international exchanges andcooperation. In particular, he introduced the cooperation projects andexchanges that have been conducted between the two universities. The College ofFishery and Life Science and the College of Foreign Languages have been participatingin the International Summer School Project of the University of Manchester fortwo consecutive years. School leaders also visited the University of Manchesterearlier this year. Officials from the Office of International Affairs of theUniversity of Manchester visited our school last October. Susannah Jones introducedthe long history and campus of the University of Manchester and the city ofManchester. Both sides communicated about the content and form of cooperationand exchange between the two universities in relevant disciplines and fieldsand intended to make further communication and cooperation in personneltraining in biology, engineering and information fields.

Later, the guests visited the works of the4th University Student National Aquarium Scenery Competition organized by ourschool. They also visited the new offshore fishery training base - the divingrescue training laboratory of the College of Marine Sciences and had in-depthdiscussions with some students.
