The OM delegation of SHOU won a silver prize (the second place) in the university student group in the finals themed by “Classics: A Mockumentary about a Classic Work”. The finals welcomed more than 900 delegations from many countries across the world.

SHOU delegation was led by Liu Xiaodan, Director of the Department of Relics and Museology Management of the Archives ( i.e.university history museum and museum), and consisted of students from AIEN Institute, the College of Food Science and Technology, the College of Foreign Languages, the College of Information Technology and so forth, including Zhu Xuyang, Yang Yikai, Wang Huiting, Li Minghao, Li Yi, Huang Sheng, Xu Kuangying, Bi Zihao and Huang Shiyang. In the finals themed by “Classics: A Mockumentary about a Classic Work”, SHOU delegation competed with two American delegations and the delegation of the East China University of Political Science and Law. Our delegation presented a mockumentary about a classic chapter of Journey to the West. It’s about the real dragon which witnesses the Buddha pretended by Master Roshi, sees through the trick of Kakarotto and becomes the only truth. The competition is a comprehensive one that requires delegation members to complete in the context of scenario design, stage performance, prop preparation, art design and other related tasks, so high requirements are raised on innovation, creativity, teamwork, etc.

Founded three years ago, the OM club of SHOU is affiliated to the Archives (i.e. university history museum and museum). Thanks to the concerted efforts and unique innovations of all club members, after winning a silver prize (the second place) in the 38th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in 2017, SHOU delegation won a back-to-back silver prize in the 39th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, which fully demonstrated the wisdom, competence and presence of the students of SHOU.
