On the afternoon of April 9, the delegation led by Chen Qun, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, visited SHOU. Also present at the event were Gu Jinshan, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal People’s Government of Shanghai; Jiang Hong, Inspector of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission; SHOU leaders Wu Jiamin, Cheng Yudong, He Ya, Wu Jiannong, and Li Jiale; and officials from related departments and offices of the General Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
In the company of Secretary of SHOU CPC Committee Wu Jiamin and SHOU President Cheng Yudong, the delegation visited Marine Safety and Rescue Training Center, Engineering Training Center, Algal Application Institute, and Marine Fishery Remote Sensing GIS Technology Lab, listened to introductions given by responsible persons there, and interacted with students at the machining workshop of Engineering Training Center, and on the first floor of the College of Fisheries and Life Science.
Chen Qun said that SHOU, as a university with a long-standing history and prominent features, had made many new achievements in the fields of talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, social services, and so forth since its renaming and relocation in 2008. He expressed the hope that SHOU would continue to maintain its features and advantages, accelerate the pace of first-class discipline construction, serve the building of Shanghai as a scientific and technological innovation center following national strategies, and achieve the goal of high-grade characteristic university. He also added that Shanghai would give full support to SHOU, and actively guarantee related services.
