On April 2 afternoon, the China Pelagic Fishery Development Foundation & Enterprise Donation Ceremony was held at Meeting Room 102 of the Tuwen Information Center. Present at the ceremony were Wan Rong, President of SHOU; Guo Aiping, Chief Accountant of SHOU and Vice President of the Foundation; representatives of donating entrepreneurs and alumni; heads of related colleges and departments; and representatives of teachers and students. The ceremony was presided over by Jiang Weiping, Director of the Office of Social Collaboration and Alumni Affairs and Secretary-General of the Foundation.
At the donation ceremony, Jessn Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. and Zhoushan Ningtai Ocean Fisheries Co., Ltd. each donated RMB1 million to SHOU. Guo Aiping, Chief Accountant of SHOU and Vice President of the Foundation, accepted the donations and issued the donation certificates.
The representatives of the donating enterprises engaged in exchanges and delivered speeches. He Bo, Chairman of Jessn Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., and Yu Qianchao, General Manager of Zhoushan Ningtai Ocean Fisheries Co., Ltd, congratulated on the establishment of the China Pelagic Fishery Development Foundation, and introduced the development status of their companies. They hoped to take this donation as an opportunity to strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, realize university-enterprise collaborative development and progress, and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of China’s pelagic fishery cause and the realization of the dream of building a powerful pelagic fishery country.
Guo Aiping said that the establishment of the China Pelagic Fishery Development Foundation represented an important node in the development of SHOU’s pelagic fishery cause, and she expressed thanks to the donating enterprises on behalf of SHOU. As well pointed out by her, in recent years, SHOU has further promoted the opening-up and achieved obvious progress in the development of the cause, with prominent strategic and industrial advantages. At present, SHOU is vigorously promoting its “Double First-class” construction in a new development stage. It will take this donation as an opportunity to further strengthen industry-government-research cooperation and innovate talent training modes, thereby better serving the development of China’s pelagic fishery cause and writing a new chapter of development.
The China Pelagic Fishery Development Foundation is established in memory of the pioneers and founders in the science and education field in China’s pelagic fishery cause (such as Professors Le Meilong, Wang Yaogeng, and Ji Xinghui) and encourage more young teachers and students to devote themselves to China’s pelagic fishery cause, thereby promoting the high-quality development of China's pelagic fishery and realize the older generations’ dream of building a powerful pelagic fishery country. Set up under SHOU Foundation, the China Pelagic Fishery Development Foundation is dedicated to the training of students and young teachers in the field of pelagic fishery and the development of scientific research. The Foundation will set up several small funds. Following the example of the above two enterprises, other enterprises may donate as well.
