On June 6th, 2013, a delegation of three members headed by Mr. Herminio Tembo, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries of Mozambique visited Shanghai Ocean University accompanied by Mr. Chen Shuiyuan, representative of China National Fisheries Corporation in Mozambique. The reception was held by Professor Pan Yingjie, president of SHOU, Professor Zhang Min, Director of the President's Office, Professor Xu Liuxiong, Dean of the College of Marine Sciences, Professor Zhong Junsheng, Vice Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and some staff representatives of Shanghai Ocean University.

Delegation of Mozambique visited Navigation Simulation Lab in SHOU

President Pan Yingjie introduced the 100 years' history of SHOU, the development of marine discipline, international cultivation of students and international cooperation, and showed the research achievement in marine sciences, expressing the wish that the two parties can extend cooperation in different areas.

President Pan Yingjie also stated that China and Mozambique are both marine nations with a time-honored traditional friendship, so the progress in marine industry will play a significant role in the economic development of the two countries. Moreover, marine science is a key discipline in SHOU, which can help cultivate young talents for marine fishing and aquaculture, provide long-term degree program and short-term training for Mozambique while extending research collaboration with Mozambique. Mr. Herminio Tembo appreciated the history and achievement of SHOU, and expressed their wish to receive support from SHOU in terms of marine fishing and aquaculture. Meanwhile, Mr. Herminio and his delegation sang high praise for the Navigation Simulation Lab, Fishing Simulation Lab and Distant-water Fishing Exhibition Hall, etc.
