About the lecturer:

Zhang Demin, Ph.D., professor and doctoral tutor at School of MarineSciences of Ningbo University, deputy director of China Society for MicrobialEcology, director of Chinese Society of Marine Microbiology and executivedirector of Zhejiang Ocean Society. He has been mainly engaging in the study ofmicrobial ecology and microbial taxonomy. His main research interests include:1) Studying the relationship among culture environment (water-body andintestinal) microbial communities and health of shrimp by using statisticalmethods and microbiome technology, the prediction of breeding diseases andmicroecological control technology and related products; 2) Based on therelationship among microorganism-environment-ecosystem, revealing thestructure, function and dynamic evolution rules of the bacterial communities incoastal polluted waters, trying to establish a micro-ecological indicatorsystem that can be applied to evaluate the quality of coastal marineenvironment and ecological health.

He is the chief expert of national 863 Program (high-throughput biologicaldetection technology for marine ecological environment) and presides over twonational fund projects (1. the mechanism of microbial ecology of shrimpdisease; 2. Vibrio genome 16S rRNA gene copy number and dissimilation and its environmentaladaptability), as well as other 10-plus national, provincial andministerial-level programs, including the Key Fund Program of the Ministry ofEducation (mechanism of photosynthetic bacteria agent in regulating aquaculturewater quality) and Zhejiang Province-funded talent program (molecular ecologyof microbial community structure and its evolution in aquaculture ponds). Hehas published more than 30 academic papers as the first author and correspondingauthor on Environ Microbiol, Environ Pollut, App EnvironMicrob, Ecolo Indic, App Microbiol Biot, Microbiol Ecol, Mar Pollut Bull, JBiotechnol, Intl J Syst Evol Micr, Journal of Ecology, Journal ofFisheries, Journal of microbiology and other famous journals, including morethan 10 papers published on SCITop journals or journals with 3.0 influentialfactor or above.
