SHOU cooperating with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in holding the symposium on “Planning on the International Promotion of Social Benefits of Fish Culture in Rice Fields”

To give full play to the advantages of SHOU in the “First-class Discipline of Aquatic Product Science” and in humanities and social sciences, serve the strategy of national rural revitalization and “OBOR” construction and implement the development concept of “building a community with a shared future for mankind” put forward by General Party Secretary Xi Jinping at the 19th CPC National Congress, SHOU and FAO jointly launched the symposium on “Planning on the International Promotion of Social Benefits of Fish Culture in Rice Fields” with the approval of the Department of International Cooperation and Fishery  Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The symposium was undertaken by the College of Marine Culture and Law of SHOU, and held on the campus of SHOU on December 5-6, 2018.

Present at the symposium were 17 foreign experts from FAO, NACA, WorldFish, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Kenya, Uganda, France and Japan, and more than 50 domestic participants from the Fishery Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the International Exchange Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, Qingtian County People’ Government of Zhejiang Province and its agricultural bureau and crop management center, Congjiang County Bureau of Fisheries of Guizhou Province, Yunnan Zhonghai Fisheries Co., Ltd., Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and SHOU.
