On March 9, the staff of Solent University, a partner university of SHOU, sent a consolation letter to SHOU for the COVID-19 outbreak.

The letter reads: “We join you and the rest of the world in hoping that the virus will soon be defeated and normally restored. For those of you due to come to the University, we look forward to welcoming you. And staff from Solent, due to visit soon, are hoping they will have the opportunity to see the cherry blossom at Wuhan University this year. You are in our thoughts and we wish you, your families and friends good health. Stay strong Wuhan, stay strong China!”

In 2018, SHOU signed an agreement of university partnership with Solent University. In 2019, the two sides signed a student exchange agreement. Leaders and teachers of the College of Economics and Management and the College of Information Technology have visited Solent University, aiming to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. The College of Economics and Management has also sent exchange students to Solent University, which enjoys a high reputation among exchange students.

As one of the earliest academies of arts founded in the UK, Solent University has attached great importance to both practice and innovation, and become a main provider of talents for the creative industries in Europe. All of its courses have absorbed creative and practical elements, and many Olympic champions have studied here. British and EU students account for about 95% of the students, and its international students come from more than 100 countries.
