On the morning of July 14, the closing ceremony of the 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Food Science and Engineering program was held at Shanghai Ocean University.
Through cutting-edge courses, hands-on practice, industry field trips and cultural experiences, 19 young students from 11 countries not only gained an in-depth understanding of the latest developments in food science and technology, but also experienced firsthand the thriving vitality of Chinese culture and industrial innovation.
Yin Mingyu, a faculty representative from the College of Food Science and Technology, reviewed the moments of learning and exchange he had shared with the participants, and encouraged them to keep their passion for food science and to continue exploring on their future academic and career paths. MARYANN AUGUSTINE, a participant representative from Nigeria, shared her gains and reflections from the summer school. She said that the experience had not only enriched her professional knowledge, but had also brought her friendships that transcend national borders, and that she looked forward to the opportunity to return to China for further study in the future.
In 2026, the Ministry of Education continued to establish the Chinese Government Scholarship—International Summer School program. In response to the call of the Ministry of Education, and in order to advance the opening up of education and serve the university's internationalization strategy, Shanghai Ocean University has kept promoting the development of high-level international summer schools and actively attracting outstanding young students from overseas to China for exchange and study.
